First Air Avataq Cup

Rules

 

1)     All games except the playoffs will be 15 minute straight time periods with the last 5-minutes of the 3rd period stop time, if goal differential is 3-or-less.

*Playoff games will be 20-minute periods with the last 5-minutes of the 3rd period stop time, if goal differential is 3-or-less.

2)     Group standings determined by the following:

i)      Total Points

ii)     Head to head

iii)   Best +/- in tournament

iv)    Goals against

v)     Goals for

3)     Mercy rule – 7 goals any time after 2 complete periods.

4)      

a)      All tie games except Playoffs will be decided by a shootout

i)      Shootout win (2 Points) Shootout loss (1 Point)

ii)     After regulation 5 players and 2 alternates will be written on a shootout spreadsheet. Numbers/names and order of shooters must be filled out correctly.

iii)   Home team has the decision to shoot first or second.

iv)    First 5 players on each list will alternate shots.

v)     The team with more goals after this will be the winners.

vi)    If still tied, each team’s 6th shooter will go. If still tied; they will have the second alternate shoot. If still tied, they will continue to alternate shooters from the rest of the players that have not shot until the tie is broken.

b)     Any overtime in the playoffs will be 20-minute stop time sudden death periods until game is over.

5)     All CHA rules will apply plus additional rules as outlined.

6)     All players must be registered with their local branch.

7)     Any player assessed with a major penalty for fighting a second time will be ejected from the tournament.

8)     There is no body checking.

9)     Any player assessed a Gross Misconduct Penalty for playing under the influence of alcohol will be ejected from the tournament. Ejection will be the team’s responsibility and or forfeit of game.

10)   Each team can dress a maximum of 20 players.

11)   Players must be 16 years of age or older.

12)   Any player who removes his helmet during the game will receive a Gross Misconduct. With this comes a two game suspension
